Ok, when my wallet went missing, I moved all the money out of my bank accounts, just to be safe. Sadly, I forgot that there was a cheque I had written which had not cleared yet. So a bounced cheque and some NSF fees later, I got that all straightened out. Hopefully that will be the end of that ordeal.
I got my wallet back from the ETS lost and found (took them 36 hours to even say they had it), completely intact. Still had the $15 in it. Yay!
Ok now I forgot what I was going to say. Blah.
Guess that means it's time for me to sleep. Tomorrow is a new day, filled with angry Americans, dirty dishes, hours and hours on public transit, and laundry. I like my life, honest I do. If I say it enough, maybe I'll start believing it...
Ooo yeah! I was reading this book, Merlin by Stephen R. Lawhead, and I came across a passage most profound:
Great Light, Mover of all that is moving and at rest, be my Journey and my far Destination, be my Want and my Fulfilling, be my Sowing and my Reaping, be my glad Song and my stark Silence. Be my Sword and my strong Shield, be my Lantern and my dark Night, be my everlasting Strength and my piteous Weakness. Be my Greeting and my parting Prayer, be my bright Vision and my Blindness, be my Joy and my sharp Grief, be my sad Death and my sure Resurrection.
This passage appeared out of nowhere in the book, with the little designs before and after that indicate the equivalent of a commercial break. Because it appeared so apparently out of context, it is all the more powerful. The passion is in the paradox, I have come to realise, and I have been thoroughly exploring that concept within my mind over the past 48 hours or so. Anticipation comes with both eager impatience, and cold heavy dread.
So longs my soul...
